About Woodbrair
Woodbriar Pet Photography is built around capturing animals as they really are - their personality, their quirks, and the connection they have with the people who love them. It’s a natural, outdoor approach (Although indoor/studio photos are available on request!) that values both the quiet, emotional moments and the bits of character that make them completely themselves.
Each session is a balance of both some gently guided images to create more refined, timeless portraits, alongside plenty of space for the more honest, in-between moments and the fun that shows their real character.
Because the best photos aren’t just the ones that look nice — they’re the ones that feel like them.
The face behind Woodbriar
Hi, I’m Erin
I’ve been a photographer for over 10 years, and animals have always been a huge part of both my work and my life.
I’ve photographed just about everything — dogs, cats, horses, cows, sheep… if it has four legs, I’ve probably pointed a camera at it. Alongside portraits, I’ve spent years shooting animal sports and fast-paced environments, so I’m just as comfortable capturing high-energy action as I am quiet, more considered images.
Outside of photography, animals have always been at the centre of things. I grew up around horses, went on to work in the equestrian world coaching, training and competing, and more recently worked with racehorses in training. I also have a (very opinionated) cocker spaniel, which means patience, timing, and a sense of humour are all part of the job.
All of that experience shapes how I approach sessions — knowing when to step in and guide things, and when to step back and let moments happen.
How I work
Every session is relaxed and tailored to your pet.
Some animals are calm and thoughtful, or even nervous, others are chaotic and full of energy - some are a mix of all. I work with whatever they bring on the day,  and find out all about your pet on our pre-shoot consultation so I know what to expect from them.
That might mean:
Letting them run and burn off energy first
Giving them space to settle and get to know me and my camera
Or just going with the chaos and capturing it
I’ll gently guide things when needed, especially for more classic fine art portraits,  but always in a way that keeps your pet comfortable and natural.
The aim is always the same. To create images that feel true to them.
I also want the experience itself to be a good one, not just something to get through for the sake of photos. When your pet is relaxed and enjoying themselves, it shows in every image — and it means the photos come with good memories attached, not just a gallery.

What you can expect
A mix of:
Refined, lightly guided images when it suits
Honest, character-led portraits
Natural moments between you and your pet (if desired)
And, if they’re up for it, a bit of movement and action
Just your animal, as you know them, captured properly.
