Cat photoshoots are in a different world of their own, which is why I take a completely different approach with them. I don't tell the cat what to do; I let them think the photoshoot is entirely their idea.
Not many cats will sit and stay on command, so a lot of a session comes down to me working around them with a whole lot of patience, precise timing, and a quiet, observant eye. Rather than forcing moments or stressing them out with stiff posing, I give them the space to just be themselves. Whether they're bold and curious or quiet and selective about who they trust, I adapt to their personality so we can capture those subtle, honest quirks that make them who they are.
Choosing the Right Environment
During our pre-shoot consultation, we’ll figure out the safest and most comfortable setting for your cat's photoshoot together.
Because cats are happiest in familiar surroundings, I find these sessions work best in the comfort of your own home, out in a secure garden if your cat likes to explore outside, or setting up a mini studio inside your home. Every cat has their favourite spots to lounge - whether that’s on a sunny windowsill, curled up on the sofa, or hidden in a favourite cosy corner.
I like to combine my understanding of light and space with how your cat actually uses their home, to capture them somewhere they feel completely secure.
If you're wanting some photos of your cat to celebrate them, your bond, and their brilliant personality - drop me a message and we can arrange a free, no-obligation call to discuss!
