Equine Photography
Having grown up around horses, competed, coached, and worked in racing, equestrian environments are second nature to me. I know how to read horse body language, anticipate movement, and keep sessions safe, calm, and relaxed for all.
Choosing Your Setting & Style
During our pre-shoot consultation, we’ll figure out the right setting and style of shoot for you and your horse together.
Equine sessions are typically held at your yard or a nearby location where your horse feels relaxed and confident. I draw on a few different ways of shooting depending on what you’d like to showcase - whether that's fine art black-background portraits, natural shots of you and your horse together, or a ridden lifestyle session.
If you have a specific idea of where you would like to hold the shoot, we can discuss it in our call and build the session around it.
I also offer competition photography, where I join you at your event to capture you competing. (Please note this sometimes requires approval from event hosts and different rates to my normal packages apply).
What Happens On The Day
Equine environments require a calm and considered approach. On the day, we take things completely at your horse's pace, choosing quiet spots around the yard or location so they stay relaxed throughout. I've worked with many types of horses - from flighty race horses, to cheeky conemaras, to calm cobs - so can adapt the way we run the session based on the temperament of your horse.
I’ll step in to gently guide things when we’re aiming for those refined, classic portraits, but always in a way that feels natural and safe. Whether we're capturing high-energy movement or quiet moments, the aim is to create beautiful images that come with great memories attached.
If you're wanting some photos of your horse to celebrate your bond, their unique spirit, and your time together - drop me a message and we can arrange a free, no-obligation call to discuss!
